Improving Neurological Services at Salford Royal Hospital
We have been chosen as one of only two patient organisations to work with Salford Royal to help improve the hospital services. We were invited to submit a "wish list" with three key priorities and after consultation with our Member Organisations we have proposed the following ;
1. Implement the "What You Need To Know About My Condition Leaflet" which aims to help meet patients needs when admitted to A & E or onto a non-specialised ward. These leaflets are downloadable from this website.
2. Appointment of a "Rare Conditions Specialist Nurse". We know that the services of Specialist Nurses are greatly valued by service users and carers, and are under resourced. We feel that this appointment would benefit people with those rarer conditions that currently do not have access to any Specialist Nurses.
3. Improve / expand Neuropsycholgy and counselling services. We have been told by service users and carers for many years about the lack of these services and how necessary they are in the treatment and care of patients with neurological conditions.
LET US KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT THIS PROPOSAL
